Draíochtúil - Integral Key-hole Chef with Amboyna Burl
Made with 15n20/80Cvr2 tight layer raindrop, laddered Damascus Steel. This is my pièce de résistance of this year!
The integral key hole blade is handled with stunning dyed Amboyna burl. I don’t name most of my knives, but this piece certainly deserves one...
Named “Draíochtúil” (Dree-ocht-ool), meaning Magical or Mesmerising, the pattern in the damascus lives up to the name!
Featuring a wide heel that provides ample knuckle clearance and a fine tip, this Chef knife is crafted to perform at a high level. The blade is paired an ebonised walnut saya with bookmatched Amboyna burl pieces inlayed on either side. These are the same wood as the handle.
